As artificial intelligence becomes more accessible, students need more than familiarity with new tools. They need the ability to define problems clearly, evaluate generated information, communicate precise instructions, and use AI responsibly within academic and professional settings.

On January 1, 2026, the campus of Islamic University of Technology (IUT), OIC became a meeting point for learning and student innovation through the “AI for Future Leaders” session and Agent X AI Prompting Competition Prize-Giving Ceremony.

The program brought students together to explore how prompt engineering can support research, idea development, communication, problem-solving, and other learning activities. Participants examined how context, objectives, constraints, examples, and output formats can be combined to produce more relevant AI-generated responses.

Fahmidul Alam, Subject Matter Expert and AI CERTs® Certified Trainer, facilitated the technical session. He introduced structured prompting frameworks and emphasized that effective AI use requires critical thinking, iteration, and careful review—not simply entering a question and accepting the first response.

Responsible use was also an important part of the discussion. Students were encouraged to verify facts and references, follow academic-integrity requirements, protect personal and institutional information, and clearly acknowledge AI assistance whenever required by their university or instructor.

The Agent X Prize-Giving Ceremony recognized students who demonstrated strong prompting skills during the competition. Rather than measuring the ability to generate attractive text alone, effective prompting involves understanding the task, improving instructions, assessing the response, and identifying unsupported or inaccurate information.

Awards were presented by Fahmidul Alam, Md. Rafiqul Islam, Business Development Executive, and Jobayer Ahmed Jubo, Business Development Executive. Their participation connected the students’ learning experience with the practical communication, analysis, and digital skills increasingly relevant to modern workplaces.

The program was supported by the IUT authorities and the IUT International Students’ Community. Their collaboration helped create an inclusive environment in which students could explore AI, exchange ideas, and celebrate the achievements of their peers.

We also recognize the contributions of Zarin Tasnim Mim, who coordinated the initiative as the point of contact, and Tarif Hasan Nayeem, who managed media coverage and documented the occasion.

The achievements celebrated through Agent X represent an encouraging beginning for the participants. The lasting value of the competition will come from applying these skills with curiosity, integrity, and an understanding that AI is most useful when guided by informed human judgment.
