Artificial intelligence is becoming an important part of academic and professional life, but using it effectively requires more than entering a simple instruction. Prompting challenges encourage students to define problems clearly, provide useful context, evaluate generated responses, and improve their approach through iteration.

On October 21, 2025, Varendra University hosted an Agent X AI Prompting Competition prize-giving ceremony in Rajshahi. The event recognized students who demonstrated strong performance, creativity, and commitment throughout the competition.

Organized as a national AI skills initiative, Agent X provided participants with an opportunity to explore practical human–AI collaboration. Instead of approaching generative AI as a tool that automatically produces correct answers, students were encouraged to think carefully about the quality of their instructions and the reliability of the resulting outputs.

The competition helped participants practise several transferable skills, including problem definition, structured communication, analytical thinking, experimentation, and response evaluation. These capabilities are relevant not only to prompt engineering but also to research, project work, entrepreneurship, and future professional responsibilities.

The prize-giving ceremony celebrated the top performers while recognizing the wider learning journey of every participant. Competition results may highlight individual achievement, but the greater value lies in the curiosity, discipline, and willingness to learn demonstrated by the participating students.

For students at Varendra University, the initiative created a space where academic learning could connect with an emerging area of technology. It also reflected the university’s broader focus on innovation, creativity, research, and preparing learners to respond to the challenges of the modern world.

The event highlighted an important principle of AI literacy: a well-structured prompt can improve an output, but it cannot guarantee accuracy. Users must still verify facts, question assumptions, compare information with credible sources, and apply independent judgment before using AI-generated material.

Responsible participation also requires awareness of academic integrity, privacy, intellectual property, and bias. Personal data, confidential documents, unpublished research, and restricted academic materials should not be entered into unapproved AI platforms.

Through initiatives such as Agent X, NetCom Learning Bangladesh aims to help students develop practical digital capabilities alongside the critical thinking needed to apply emerging technologies responsibly.
