Artificial intelligence is introducing new possibilities for lesson preparation, research assistance, assessment design, student communication, and administrative work. Its contribution to education, however, depends on how thoughtfully educators evaluate and integrate it into their teaching.

With this focus, Dhaka International University hosted an “AI+ Educator” session on October 26, 2025. The program was conducted by NetCom Learning Bangladesh to help educators explore practical, ethical, and responsible applications of artificial intelligence.

The session examined how generative AI can assist educators with developing lesson outlines, summarizing approved academic materials, creating initial question banks, preparing classroom activities, adapting explanations, and drafting routine communication.

Participants also explored how prompting techniques can improve the relevance of generated content. Defining the learning objective, academic level, subject context, required format, and assessment criteria can help an AI system produce a more useful initial response.

The discussion emphasized that AI-generated materials are not automatically accurate or pedagogically appropriate. Educators must check facts, references, calculations, examples, and suggested answers before introducing any generated content into a classroom or assessment.

MD Imdadul Islam, Head of Training & Solutions at NetCom Learning Bangladesh, led the session through practical demonstrations and guided discussion. He helped participants consider both the opportunities and limitations of AI within teaching and academic work.

Academic integrity was a central part of the conversation. Institutions need clear expectations regarding acceptable AI assistance, disclosure, authorship, assessment, and independent student work. Educators must also design activities that evaluate understanding rather than the ability to reproduce generated content.

Student privacy requires similar care. Names, grades, assignments, personal records, disability information, disciplinary matters, and unpublished research should not be entered into public or unapproved AI platforms. Institutional policies and authorized systems should guide any use of sensitive information.

AI should not replace the professional judgment or human connection that effective education requires. Teachers remain responsible for understanding their students, selecting appropriate methods, providing meaningful feedback, and ensuring that technology supports equitable learning.

The AI+ Educator session created an opportunity for Dhaka International University educators to consider how AI can support their work while preserving accuracy, fairness, accessibility, and academic responsibility.
