Bangladesh’s ready-made garment industry is navigating growing demands for faster production, consistent quality, responsible manufacturing, and reliable delivery. Meeting these expectations requires experienced professionals who can combine established textile knowledge with emerging digital capabilities.

To explore how artificial intelligence can support this transition, Masco Group hosted a specialized seminar on “AI for RMG Professionals” at Concept Knitting Limited in Tongi. The seminar was facilitated by NetCom Learning Bangladesh and tailored to the practical realities of textile and apparel operations.

Participants explored how generative AI can assist with production reporting, document summarization, internal communication, information retrieval, and the preparation of structured operational updates. These applications can help reduce repetitive administrative work and give professionals more time to focus on coordination and problem-solving.

The discussion also introduced the potential role of data-driven systems in production forecasting and predictive maintenance. When supported by reliable machine, maintenance, and production data, analytical models may help teams identify patterns and investigate possible equipment issues earlier.

However, AI-generated forecasts should not be treated as guaranteed outcomes. Maintenance schedules, production targets, material planning, and supply chain decisions must remain grounded in verified operational data and reviewed by experienced engineering and management teams.

Khan Tanvir, Subject Matter Expert and AI CERTs® Certified Trainer, led the seminar through practical examples relevant to the RMG sector. He helped participants understand how AI-assisted workflows can complement their existing knowledge rather than replace the experience developed on the production floor.

Responsible implementation remained an important part of the session. Buyer information, product specifications, pricing, employee records, machine data, and compliance documents should only be handled through approved and secure systems. Any AI-generated output must be reviewed for accuracy, confidentiality, and operational relevance.

The seminar also emphasized that smart manufacturing is not achieved by introducing a single tool. It requires clear business objectives, reliable data, trained professionals, appropriate governance, and a practical plan for measuring whether a new process delivers meaningful improvement.

By creating space for its professionals to explore these applications, Masco Group is strengthening the connection between human expertise and digital innovation. This learning initiative provides a practical foundation for evaluating how AI may support future improvements across textile and apparel operations.
